It's the Most Colorful Time of the Year

I love fall. I love the colors, the clothes, the crisp feeling of it still being warm but having a nice chill in the breeze. Every year growing up my family would drive through the Appalachian Mountains in Virginia and look at the leaves changing color (Virginia is BEAUTIFUL in the fall so if you ever plan on going go now). I have missed Virginia's falls and the colors so Neil and I took a drive through Provo Canyon and Sundance and it was gorgeous. There's something about the mountains out here that I just can't get used to how amazing they are, so adding fall colors just makes it even more breathtaking.

We decided that we were going to make this a family tradition for our family as well, except we will bundle up next year...it was chilly in the mountains especially by the stream so we couldn't enjoy being out for long because I'm a complainer (sorry baby).

"Is This Your First?"

So as many of you know, or should know since our last post was about this, Neil and I bought a house. In our new neighborhood we are pretty much the only couple without children, okay maybe between 1 and 5 other couples in our neighborhood/ward don't have children either but you get my point.

We have a great neighborhood and I honestly love all of our neighbors and our ward has been so welcoming. Our neighbors Marcus and Terri have an annual Halloween Block Party where they close down the street and everyone dresses up and eats yummy soup. Since it has been beyond crazy we didn't even think about our costume until the day of so we both threw together something out of what we already had. So we were...drum roll please...

(If you can't tell by this picture we obviously failed.)

Neil was a gangster, or as a little girl who saw Neil and asked "Are you a ganker?" Haha, oh Utah...and then she continued by complaining that her mother won't let her wear her pants that low, haha.

And I was pregnant. This is not an announcement I just thought it would be funny because there are so many pregnant people in our neighborhood. I just put some pillow batting in a plastic bag and stuffed it up my shirt, and the funny thing is people really thought I was pregnant and a few ladies asked me if this was my first baby. A lot of people that don't know that it was just a costume were probably really confused when I went to church without a big pregnant belly and with no baby.

Now next year I'm going to be a gangster and Neil's going to be pregnant.

August= Whoa

So pretty much August was incredibly crazy. I was up to my eyebrows in paper because Neil and I bought a house!

It's cool and exciting and gave me forehead wrinkles-seriously. I will post pictures of the inside of the house when it looks semi presentable, but until then I'm having a hay-day pinning lots of cute house stuff on pinterest and one day I may even make my pinterest a reality <--I think this calls for a serious Craft Day folks!

August was also a big month because Neil and I got sealed on August 27th at the Draper Temple. It was beautiful and perfect and definitely no forehead wrinkles were developed but maybe some crows feet from my uncontrollable smiling.

What made that day even better was we got to spend it with family, including Neil's parents who flew out for a week to be there.

It was so nice getting to spend time with them and show them around Utah, and to show them our new house.

So pretty much August was crazy, but in a very good way. We were sad to say goodbye to our first apartment together and to living so close to such good friends and family, but we're excited to have our home where we can start our family, and remember friends we're not that far away!

I'm going to go do something housey like...I'm not sure what right now because I'm still learning...

MOAB (it's more than just a bumper sticker)

I had the last week of June off so Neil and I decided we would take a mini vacation like we did during my break last year when we went to Yellowstone. We thought we'd stick with the whole outdoorsy theme so Neil took it upon himself to plan a two day trip to Moab.

It's about 4 hours from our home in Draper so we woke up nice and early on Tuesday...and I mean early.

We got down to Moab before noon and thought we'd start our adventure in...

Arches National Park! There was red rock everywhere and it was so beautiful.

We also so a very large balancing rock which is named "Balancing Rock" how fitting.

We also saw tons of arches (imagine that) and each one was so amazing!

It was over 100 degrees and of course there were no trees anywhere so we had to find our own kind of shade...which mostly consisted of rocks the sun was behind and little caves.

After being out in the heat and sun for hours we went into Moab and got some amazing burgers, fries and shakes at Milts, the oldest restaurant in Moab.

We then went and saw a dinosaur foot imprint and some Indian writings on the red rock.

And then we went back to Arches and watched a beautiful sunset.

We were exhausted and slept like the dead that night and then woke up nice and early to go to Canyonlands National Park the next day.

Canyonlands is obviously known for it's many canyons,

this crazy greenish-blue stuff that might be from salt, or outer space, no one seems to know.

and they even had an arch of their own.

Oh Baby (sweater)

One of my good friends is having a baby girl in July, and instead of making her a baby hat I decided I wanted to try something a little harder, so I made her baby a sweater...and it actually looks like a sweater, I was nervous because for a while it didn't, haha.

I put a little snap on it and I crocheted interchangeable flowers to put on the front of it over the snap.

It was a lot easier then I thought it would be and I'm def going to make this again because it was more challenging and it turned out super cute :)

So the reason I haven't been blogging is because I have a new addiction...Pinterest. If you haven't started Pinning you're missing out-seriously.
I have pretty much pinned the clothes I'm going to buy for the rest of my life

Pinned how I'm going to decorate my future home that is not 700 square feet

Pinned many, many, many cute crafts

And a bunch of yummy food, future baby stuff and so on. I'm going to get back to Pinning, c ya!

Spring Break (I couldn't think of anything creative)

So, have I mentioned that I have the best job ever? Not only do I have amazing coworkers and work with amazing children and families but we also get random and much needed breaks from work-for example, this past week was my spring break. I had dreams of spring cleaning and knitting and being super productive, but instead I was just a bum and I'm okay with that too.

On Monday I worked for a little bit, only like an hour and a half so not bad and then I watched Pride and Prejudice for like the 10th time in the past two weeks...don't judge me, don't you dare judge me (a quote from Pride and Prejudice-not the six hour version).

On Tuesday some of my coworkers and I had a craft day so Brianna and I made these cute wall hangings that were super cheap and easy...mine will look better when I attach the ribbon to them to hang on the wall, but I don't really have anywhere to hang them at the moment, but one day. And we made these cool bracelets that you make by weaving them through your fingers which was way cool.

Wednesday, Michelle and I met up with one of my favorite professors from BYU-Idaho, Jillisa Cranmer, and we showed her where we work and talked about school and life and our jobs and how Kids On The Move does different Early Intervention stuff and it was just awesome to see her and hang out! I then did a little more work accidentally and I did laundry, FUN!

On Thursday I woke up and wanted an egg sandwich and then realized the eggs I bought on Monday were not in my fridge and that I had left them at Walmart...dang it! I did some straightening up because we were having company Friday-Saturday-it was nice to have a clean house for a day but it's a wreck once again-funny how that works, huh?

Friday I did a little more straightening up and I went back to the grocery store and got more eggs and remembered to bring them home with me...along with some other goodies. I watched "Australia" twice and Neil and I decided we were going to adopt an aboriginal child one day. We met our good friends, Don and Kelsi with their two month old baby, Jackson, and Tia and Merrick, Randall, Melissa and Rachelle at In-N-Out Burger for dinner where we ran into Neil's uncle Ted (what are the chances?).

After a yummy burger and animal style fries Tia, Merrick, Don, Kelsi and baby Jackson came to our house where we met maximum occupancy and played some games...well one game-THE GREAT DALMUTI! After many hugs we said goodbye to Tia and Merrick, but Don, Kelsi and baby Jackson spent the night-and did I mention we live in a studio apartment so four adults and a two month old baby in one room. But Jackson slept like a champ and it was a good learning experience for Neil and I.

On Saturday we had a slow morning and then went to Cabela's and had to say our goodbyes to the Frybergers. And next week I have to say hello to a full week of work...which includes an all day training on Monday, so lets just say that this past week spoiled me beyond belief.
